The scheme aims to benefit over eight lakh candidates in FY 2020-2021 with a budget of 948.90 crore while targeting the youth under the age group of 15-45 years
Introduction of counselling through online information/counselling platform, through counselling helpline or through district level skill information centre is envisaged for information asymmetry and unbiased counselling so that needy and motivated youth is encouraged to join the skilling movement
Every certified candidate will be provided with three-year accidental insurance (Kaushal Bima) of Rs. 2 lakhs. This is will help to increase aspirations among youth, indemnify the candidates and reduce on–the-job risks
The scheme will be more inclusive by ensuring higher participation rate from the deprived groups, women, transgender and Persons with disabilities (PWDs) with enhanced support and additional benefits under PMKVY 3.0
Greater cross utilization/optimal utilization of training capacities will be made through integration of available infrastructure with Universities/Colleges/ ITIs/Polytechnics/Schools. Initiate the creation of nodal skill information and service centres at the district level for popularisation of skill development schemes/programmes at village level
Capacity of Sector Skill Councils (SSCs) will be enhanced through
- Setting up regional Centres of Excellence (CoEs) by SSCs
- State level chapters of SSCs
- Round the year ToTs by the SSCs
- Coordination with 33 NSTIs for ToT and developing CoEs
The scheme will be compatible with the international standards by provisioning add-on bridge courses and language courses. In long run, this will provide more international employment opportunities to the Indian youth
Under PMKVY3.0, each enroled trainee will get an induction kit comprising of the following items along with a participant handbook:
- T-shirt (Male) or Jacket (Female)
- Diary
- ID Card holder with Lanyard
- Backpack
